I constructed this frame to mount my 50" Plasma in my 4:3 TV nook. I can hang my body weight (210 lbs) with no visible problems. My Panny weighs about 115 lbs I think.

Does this frame look good to everyone?

Looks like it will hold the Plasma with no problem. The only comment I would make is to make sure that the frame is actually attached to the studs behind the drywall in the nook. You will be hanging that nice tv on the front and it would not be a good thing to have the entire frame slide out of the nook because the tv accidently got knocked or pushed.

Laters,
Jeff

Thanks for the comment, the frame is attached into the studs on each outer edge, and also to the studs on the bottom. Does this seem sufficient?

Yup sounds good to me.

Thanks for the input, here is the final pic after I mounted it. Everything seems to be holding very well.

Looks good. Do you use your gas fireplace, and if you do, how does the heat affect the plasma?

We don't use it very much, but I think it would be fine. It vents most of the heat out the back of the fireplace to the outside. The next time I fire it up I will check the temperature near the plasma.
