I have the Dish 811 HD receiver, and am wondering if you found the DVI input gives a better image than thru component? I'm going to buy the Mits. HD1000 720p projector soon, and an HDMI upconverting DVD player for 720p to use with it. I'm asking because I would also order a DVI/HDMI cable for 811 and a HDMI switcher at the same time. Thanks.

Nobody's compared the 811's DVI input to component ? I sure could use your help here. Thanks.

I just recently upgraded and took my 811 out of service. I used DVI with it originally, then had to switch to component when I switched the 811 to a TV with no DVI input. I never noticed any discernable difference between DVI vs. component. Of course, your eyes may be different than mine!

Thanks Mike. I'm buying the Mits. HD1000 720p projector soon, and I will be using it's only HDMI input for an upconvert DVD player. I am also going to hook up my 811 receiver to projector, and I was debating whether I should use the DVI/HDMI for the 811 or stick with component. I don't want to buy a cable and switcher for nothing. I sure thought I'd get more responses here.

I'd try to save some money if I were you and just try component. I think you'll be satisfied.
