So I have been lurking here for some time as I pondered my TV purchase. Well based on everything here I picked up a Toshiba 42hm66 yesterday. Not many people talked about this specific set but the 66 series seemed to be popular.

So far - i love it - it is beatiful - fits the room perfectly - the picture is stunning... I still have to do the THX set up trick but so far it is next to perfect.
