Hello, I just purchased the Cambridge Audio 540C dedicated CD Player that I will be hooking up to my McIntosh MX119 pre/pro. What would my best hook up options be. Optical out or Analogue out. I will try both but was wondering how most hook up a dedicated 2 channel CD player with a high end pre/pro or receiver.

My friend has the 640 and he prefers the DACs in the Outlaw 990 preamp.
But that doesn't mean he is right, he has been wrong in the past.
But it really depends on the synergy of your system and what YOUR ears prefer.
