Is anyone else using the new HD DVD player from toshiba, the XA2 as a CD Player? I purchased it mainly for HD DVD obviously, but also wanted to consolidate some of my other equipment like my NAD 522 cd player. I think the XA2 sounds great playing cd's. Very detailed, more air and delicacy over the NAD ( the NAD is about 10 years old but was highly regarded as a fine budget cd player in it's day). It has nice soundstage width and depth. But if anyone else is using it as a cd player have you noticed that it is not very good at error correction. Mine locks up on CD's that are scratched, I literally have to reboot it. Can anyone else corroborate this as I would like to know if perhaps mine is defective.
