Hey guys!
I was just wondering if anyone has tried to connect the xbox hd dvd drive to a Mac and got it to work.
I have a MacPro with Nvidia 7300 graphic card but I can't get it to work via bootcamp!
I won't let me install the right drivers or there is some other problems I can't sort out.
(I tried with PowerDVD 7.0)
Any of you could give me any advice or share experience on how to make it work?
Thank you in advance!

You need PowerDVD Ultra:

On the Apple Discussion board one user reports success with the Nvidia 7300 card but others are dubious about the claim.
BTW...folks here are touchy about discussing Boot Camp. Perhaps discuss on the FAQ: MCE on Intel Mac Mini thread?

I have tried with PowerDVD Ultra but the problem is with drivers cause bootcamp driver cd installs an old old version and I can't get the newest drivers to work.
Could you please let me know where could read about this success case at Apple Discussion board? Do you happen to have a link to that thread?
Thank you very much in advance!

Download the omega drivers. I have successfully used powerdvd ultra on my macbook pro with the xbox360 hd-dvd drive. You could use a dvi->vga adapter to link to an lcd tv and that works too. You can't use the dvi itself as the onboard video card hasn't got hdcp.
Powerdvd 6.5 works fine on the intel mac mini, but version 7 won't run due to a stupid check cyberlink have put into the software.

I had partial sucess with a Macbook (intel GMA950) running winxp sp2 via bootcamp.
Short story: PowerDVD 6.5 HD-DVD worked, 7.2 Ultra did not. Had no probs playing Full Metal Jacket but King Kong was a no-go on the actual film itself.

Thank you very much for your replies guys!
Where could I get these omega drivers?
Also, wouldn't it work via DVI to HDMI adapter either?
I'll try pdvd 6.5 too!
Thanks again for the hints!!

To play at full 1080p resolution over digital connections, the entire device path must be HDCP compliant, otherwise the output will be downrezed. Be careful, guys, you might be seeing 540p and thinking you are seeing 1080p. There is a huge difference.

Powerdvd doesn't down res via vga. I, personally, only tried @ 720p, but a neighbour has tried with 1080p and had no problems.
You are correct about hdcp and digital though.

I can't put urls into my post. Google for omegadrivers.
You can't use dvi->hdmi because that is digital and requires hdcp compliant hardware.
