Need help.Have a 26" Samsung tv with ATSC tuner. The AV installers run RG6 into this tv to feed sat programming over Ch3 from a standard Dish receiver
(dual-322).I can use diplexers in the basement to inject the ota into the Sat run upstairs. Is there a way to feed the tv both ota and sat programming over one piece of coax from the sat box to the tv?
Thanks

You can't use diplexers to join the two, both your OTA and your output from the 311 are in the VHF/UHF range. With your set up you aren't trying to combine sat and OTA, you are trying to combine a modulated VHF signal and OTA. If you don't receive any channels OTA on VHF channel 3, you may be able to get away with joining the signal from the two using a combiner of some sort but you'll probably be better off just running a second line for OTA usage.
Yep,you're right,I need a combiner.Presuming I can get a good ota signal mixed in the sat line and break it out at the box,I'm thinking a modulator will work to mix the ota back in with the sat channels, then send this to the tv.
A followup to this. The modulated channel is 50,not 3.I also discovered they are already using diplexers to run a modulated ch50 signal back to the basement via the Sat line that feeds the 322.Can't run a seperate line...some places are buried in foam.
