I search the forum but couldn't find anything relevent to this issue. I am considering moving up north to Canada, specifically Vancouver. I wondering if Vancouver gets any HD content whether it's OTA or Sat. Can anyone from Vancouver shed some light on this?
1) Read the HDTV Programming Synopsis for details on Canadian HDTV from DBS & Cable.
2) Check the HDTV Locals Forum, for the topic on the Vancouver area. There are at least two over-the-air digital stations available right now.

In Van your paid HD choices would be Shaw cable, StarChoice & ExpressVu
Shaw owns both Shaw cable & StarChoice....phone, internet & cable bundling is available with Shaw.
We are StarChoice subs on the other coast (NS).....Currently StarChoice offers 17 HD channels for no extra cost....
....ExpressVu is an option, however....
....they charge an extra $10/month for their HD channels
....their older satellites also have a low "look angle" from the West Coast...(think rainfade)
....You certainly will get both SD & HD "simsubs" with ExpressVu....ie StarChoice subs will get to see the pricey SuperBowl commercials...ExpressVu subs won't! ;)

I think the question was about HD content, not provider.
On content:
You'll get the U.S. networks via Seattle, and a time-shifting option (often paying extra) for their east coast feeds (Buffalo or Boston depending on provider). CBC and CTV has OTA HD, plus Global HD (sort of), City-TV (Toronto for sure, not sure about Vancouver) these are being carried on cable and satellite. On specialty channels, we have TSNHD, Sportsnet HD, Discovery HD, National Geographic HD, A&E HD (stretch-o-vision mostly), HDnet Canada (this is new), Showcase HD, and soon WGNHD.
