Illustrating the impact of the ps3 on software sales, Rentrak Retail Essentials Senior vp Chris Roberts says that Blu-Ray movie sales catapulted 250% during the week ps3 was introduced on Nov. 17 Although the bump was credited to the same-week release of Fox's Blu-Ray Disc "X-men: The Last Stand", sales of Lionsgates five-month-old Blu-ray title "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" shot up 440%, one of 17 titles that enjoyed sales spikes of 100-400% the week that ps3 launched.

I have the magazine, it has some great info and stunning statistics that show BD has dominated and will continue to do so. I wish I had a scanner to get it on here. If someone has this and can post it up that would be awesome!

Another interesting observation made by someone was the sales ranking of the PS3 add-on remote control. I guess the next misinformation will be someone has devised a way of using the add-on remote to play games therefore not many are being used to view BD movies. :rolleyes:

Higher than the $400 XBOX360. And higher than the component cable for the Wii. Gears of War is still 2 spots above it though.
