Is there any way I can force this thing to output HDMI and Component simultaneously? When I plug in an HDMI cable it kills the component outputs, and I'd REALLY like to feed my TV and my projector simultaneously for the superbowl.

Barring this, is there any cheap way to split the component output to 2 devices without massive signal loss?

Yes. You have to remove the drive, boot to linux and change some software settings. Also, it only works with specific internal HDMI boards. Details are in the Tivo Community sub-forum, in the DirecTV HD Tivo section.
