I bought the samsung hd860 upconverter dvd player along with hdmi cable. I have a samsung tx3079 30 inch slim fit hdtv. I attempted to hook up the dvd player correctly with hdmi cable but when i switch input source on tv to hdmi and try to use dvd player it says no signal. I returned both dvd player and cable thinking it was that but the new ones do the same. Please help!

Did you go into the dvd players menu to output via hdmi,and I think you need to also set the tv to hdmi as well.

Yes i did on both......the hdmi in the dvd menu is dark and cannot be selected...weird huh?
