I tried searching to find this out and have been having trouble. I want to get the following dvd player and need to know that even though it has an hdmi out, is it HDCP compliant to my onkyo reciever?:

if by chance it isnt, can someone recommend an upscaling dvd player that is around $100 (hopefully less since the panasonic is $70 at circuit city)

I couldn't say for sure to YOUR onkyo reciever but but works fine via hdmi to my Yamaha RX-V1600.

As long as your display is HDCP compliant you should be OK.
