WVIT-DT via Comcast Cable... horrible PQ so far. Sound cuts in and out and theres little dots all over the picture much of the time. Hope its some pre-game kinks that will be worked out by game start. I'm anxious to see the NBC graphics used this year.
Edit: I should mention this is the Rangers/Bruins game.
Watching Flyers/Penguins in Chicago and it is being shown in SD... so much for HD. Kind of mad right now. Im on comcast cable.
Petteri 01-13-07, 02:15 PM NBC Miami via Comcast cable - Rangers v. Briuns. Not in HD, with NBC HD sidebars.
NBC Detroit (Starchoice satellite) HD, good pic, but drop outs with sound and pic dropping out.
I'm seeing a few video breakups on WDIV from Comcast here in Detroit with the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia game.
harrisek 01-13-07, 02:17 PM It's SD on NBC Washingto,n DC . Watching via OTA.
Pens / Flyers up in 1080i & DD2.0, on WDIV-DT NBC Detroit, via Comcast.
I'm seeing a few video breakups on WDIV from Comcast here in Detroit with the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia game.Yup. Let me switch to OTA, and see if it's the same there.
here in pittsburgh our local feed starts with the rangers game in hd, then they finally decide to swtich to our local pittsburgh game...and of course its in SD. this is pathetic.
I just missed seeing the Pens goal live as there was a full screen breakup of the video as it went in.
Pen/Flyers SD in Colorado as well...
EDIT: Now it's HD...
JMartinko 01-13-07, 02:22 PM here in pittsburgh our local feed starts with the rangers game in hd, then they finally decide to swtich to our local pittsburgh game...and of course its in SD. this is pathetic.
Same thing here in Denver on OTA. First they went to the wrong game (Rangers in HD) then switched back to the Flyers and it is only in SD.
Edit 12:24 PM MST
They finally switched to HD on the Flyers game.
All sorts of video dropouts from WDIV-DT NBC Detroit, now on OTA.
is anyone getting the pens game in HD ?
JMartinko 01-13-07, 02:25 PM is anyone getting the pens game in HD ?
Just switched to HD here in Denver on OTA.
ok i finally have the pens game in HD but with no sound....great.
NBC peacock logo that is in the lower right corner during replays is way to high. It looks like it is floating out in the middle of nowhere.
spaceywilly 01-13-07, 02:37 PM HD Rangers vs Bruins here in Sturbridge, MA on Charter. Pregame was unstable but now it's smooth.
is anyone getting the pens game in HD ?Please read the topic before posting.
No HD in DFW via OTA or D* for Pens/Flyers
icemannyr 01-13-07, 02:44 PM WNBC-DT NYC OTA.
If you minus the macroblocking the PQ is good.
No SD cams so far. :) The score bar seems a little big but I like the style, it also looks like the graphics are HD.
NBC needs to be quicker going back from replays and breaks to the faceoff.
They almost missed the first two goals of each team as they missed the faceoffs.

Ok, still having video dropouts on Pens / Flyers, WDIV-DT in Detroit, OTA.
Also having video / audio dropouts on the Bruins / Flyers from WNBC-DT NYC, via channel 82 DirecTV.
mx6bfast 01-13-07, 02:47 PM Getting the Bruins/Rangers game in HD in Memphis. PQ is terrible and I'm constantly seeing double and triple lines around the circles and lines. Is anyone else seeing this?
OTA, WMC, 2 subs.
Please read the topic before posting.
please go back and read the thread when i posted even though the game was to be in HD no market had reported actually having it as such. thus the question is there anyone out there that actually has this game in HD like it is supossed to be.
Video dropouts continue throughout the intermission. At least they wiped the water off the camera lens providing the video feed behind the desk. During the pregame they had some water drops on the lens.
hoosierfan227 01-13-07, 03:04 PM NO HD on WTHR-13 in Indianapolis via Comcast or OTA.
NBC is stretching 4x3 content from highlights of previous games. I wish they would keep the 4x3 and put some pillar bars up or better yet get HD highlights if they exist.

Before you posted others (like me) had already posted they had the game in HD.

pbassett 01-13-07, 03:25 PM I called WMAQ-5 and eventually called the cell of the Director of Engineering (Jan Jaros). She called me back to say that WMAQ are still waiting for the equipment so they can broadcast the NHL in HD. So today's NHL game and all games in the foreseeable future will be in SD.
Not sure what she means, since many WMAQ sports events are in HD. For some reason they need equipment for the NHL feed.
Does anyone know any more about this? It sucks having to watch hockey in SD.

coyoteaz 01-13-07, 03:30 PM Just flipped the Penguins/Flyers game on here: KPNX-DT via Cox in Phoenix. The quality of the game is far and away better than last year's games, though that's probably because we're getting an extra mbit/s on the video compared to last year. I have seen no picture breakups, but haven't been watching that long. The only bothersome thing is that the stupid orange line on the left side of all NBC HD content prevents my tuner card (MyHD 130) from cropping that edge, and there's a huge amount of black on that side compared to other NBC HD content.
paule123 01-13-07, 03:43 PM Watching Penguins/Flyers on WKYC-DT Cleveland via WOW cable. One WeatherPlus subchannel.
The main camera at center ice is soft, it actually looks like it's in 720p mode. The other cameras look like proper 1080i. I've seen much sharper hockey on HDNet. Not seeing any noticable macroblocking.
GregAnnapolis 01-13-07, 04:16 PM Watched for a few minutes in Annapolis MD using WBAL (Baltimore NBC) over Comcast. Stretch-o-vision, gave up quickly. Checked it again just now and it's still stretched SD. WBAL might well be the worst major market NBC affiliate. No 5.1 even during HD, stretch-o-vision during SD, and a weather subchannel. Only TNT does a worse job with HD in our area. And I've tried contacting WBAL (not today, nor recently...), they just don't seem to care!
jefbal99 01-13-07, 04:20 PM feed flipped to HD again for 10 seconds, great picture, but no audio, now back to the SD
Baldmaga 01-13-07, 04:23 PM Watching in Eunice, LA, via KALB 5.1 in Alexandria, LA
PQ is outstanding, and better than any NFL game broadcast this season. Have had 0 problems, and am gloating just a bit because our station is showing this game correctly, and it seems the majority is having problems :P
rkunces 01-13-07, 04:35 PM Game flipped in HD to Pens/Flyers :) Both games look good on the small tv but ok on the big one.
jefbal99 01-13-07, 04:37 PM and with 1:30 left in the 3rd, the HD signal came back for good
Thought the PQ and 5.1 sound were good for the NYR vs BOS game on WNBC via Cablevision. Some initial audio breakups went away before the puck dropped. When that game ended and we were switched to the PHI vs PIT game thought the PQ was also good but the 5.1 wasn't as good.
I'm in NJ and have Center Ice with DirecTV. I thought I was getting BOS/NYR game on NBC HD and PIT/PHI on Ch. 95... No dice :(
Too bad it looks like we will not see any HD games here in LA until the Stanley Cup.
