These teams played in October, with the Saints winning on a last-second field goal. From 2000-2005, there have been eight times when a playoff game featured a rematch from the regular-season, and the winner of the regular-season game was 8-0 in the playoffs. The Saints may be without WR Joe Horn, who had six catches for 110 yards and two TDs in the earlier win over Philadelphia. Regardless, New Orleans has a lot of offensive firepower. Drew Brees led the NFL with 4,418 yards passing, and he led the NFC with 26 TD passes and a 96.2 rating. RB Deuce McAlister rushed for 1,057 yards while sharing time with Reggie Bush, who had 88 catches. I imagine Bush will be returning every kick here as well. The key for the Saints will be to keep from turning the ball over. The crowd will be very loud and a lot of times a young team like New Orleans will come out a little tight. They can't afford to do that here.

The Eagles need to run the ball to take crowd out of it. Since Marty Mornhinweg has taken over the play-calling, they have run the ball 50 percent of the time. They've won six straight, including three in a row on the road. QB Jeff Garcia has won six of seven games as starter, with a TD-INT ratio of 10-2.

I think we'll see a lot of scoring in this game. The Eagles led the NFL this season with 74 plays of 20-plus yards. New Orleans had 71, tied for second. Both teams went from last to first this year. What hurts the Eagles on defense is the loss of CB Lito Sheppard. They'll have to move guys around, and the depth takes a hit.

Still, I see the Eagles winning a close game.

The Fox pregame has never been HD. It's always been upconverted 480i widescreen. (Same deal for Fox News Sunday.)

The studio pregame is SD 16:9. Only the on game site pre games were HD.

It's up in 720p & DD5.1, on the FOX digital television network.

Anyone watching in Houston on D* (MPEG-4 HD, KRIV - 26) have lots of skips and hiccups in the audio stream? Trying to figure out if it's my SPDIF dropping out, but so far it only seems to happen on FOX. All other channels are fine.

Anyone out there that happens to be watching let me know.

The PQ is very good tonite. Slightly better than the early game on CBS, IMO.

i've never seen an uglier hd broadcast here in seattle (KIRO via comcast). Everything looks out of focus.

Interesting that some think that FOX is better. OTA in Montgomery the CBS picture was excellent throughout, the FOX HD is horrid. I can barely tell it's supposed to be HD.

PQ is ok on WFFF Burlington/Montreal in OTA. CBS was better.

FOX will always be more consistent, at least at this point in the game.

PQ is marginal on WTIC-DT via Comcast cable. Not the usual blow-you-away Fox does. CBS was much better than this today. Tomorrow will be interesting. I assume, like CBS, Fox will have the #1 team/prod. crew in Chicago.

Seattle just can't catch a break today.

PQ looks like typical FOX to me. I'm watching on WJBK via Comcast in Detroit. The earlier CBS game definitely looked better here.

For whatever reason, games at the Superdome always seem to be blurry on average vs. the average FOX game. Why I don't know.

Seattle just can't catch a break today.

That screen cap looks OK, though I can see some macroblocking by the "NFL on FOX" logo. Why broadcast so many null packets, especially during such a big HD event?

Yep. Like I said, first time I've seen it. I try to keep track of what our affiliates are putting out. Perhaps it's the snow... :D Either way, the picture is suffering. KCPQ-DT is usually dialed in at 15.5-16 mb/s. But enough about my local issues... :o

OTA on KMSP-DT in Minneapolis looks pretty good other than the 50yd or 20yd cam (whatever it is) is blurry and as usual the cable cam doesn't look good.

In a very unusual circumstance, it appears the SkyCam looks better than the main field camera.

And finally, if I have the rules right, it's $325,000 per instance per affiliate. The $3 million limit only applies on an affiliate-by-affiliate basis, not by the collective affiliates. So FOX itself could be forced to pay more than $5 million in fines for that little error, depending on the number of FOX affiliates they own.

I can cap in bmp, but found the jpegs looked nearly identical. No amount of jpeg compression will look like that. But, yeah, anything I post here will be jpegs so take it with grain of block er salt.

Looking at KHON Honolulu they are avg. 12mb for the main channel. CW is the subchannel.

I like what FOX is doing with the play clock when it gets low. They are adding to the top score bar where the down and distance are. They started doing this for the BCS games, it sure looks better then adding the play clock in the lower left corner like they used to.

Fox comments on controversial shot. Fox spokeswoman Ileana Pena issued an apology for a crowd shot during last night's game that showed a woman who obviously was not an Eagles fan. The woman wore a shirt that said "[Expletive]-da Eagles."

"The shot was inadvertent and unintentional, and we apologize for it," Pena said when reached for comment.

The Washington Post reported that the shot of the woman with that shirt was played from tape from during the play and was not live. Seems hard to believe they would let it air off tape.

It was very clear from watching it that it was a replay. Seriously, I've never seen an NFL broadcast done as sloppy as this one.
