My recommendation would be to purchase a conventional 6.5" speaker, with easy-to-find 6.5-6x8 adapter plate. Sound radiates in a circular pattern, not to mention the fact that 6x8 and other "odd sizes" tend to be afterthoughts in a lineup.

The mounting holes for a 6x8 speaker line up with the mounting holes for a 5x7 speaker, which are more common and usually cost a little less money. I personally replaced my 6x8 ford speakers with SX85 speakers from Boston Acoustics.
