I just hooked up this set and am a newbie to this HD tv stuff.

I have attached my rogers HD box to it. The HD channels are fine however the regular non HD channels leave the grey bars on the sides and not using the televisions' full screen. I can switch back and forth between 16:9 and 4:3 but it doesn't help, 4:3 leaves a bigger space and 16:9 leaves a smaller space but still leaves it on both sides of the picture image. Zooming in is disabled. I don't think the tv supports zooming in on 720 or 1080i resolutions. Is there anything I can do or will this set display regular tv channels with the ugly gray bars on the sides?

Do you have the Rogers 3250HD box? that one should allow you to eliminate the bars from 4:3 viewing by stretching the pic. I know the image looks a bit strange at first, but you quickly get used to it.

ahh, ok got it, I was ignoring the cable box remote and was just using the tv remote.
