i understand that you need 2 tuners in order to split the picture and make PIP work....the plasma that im buying has one tuner already...can anyone tell me the other types of tuners besides VCRs that i can use to display PIP....thanks

Sometimes STB's or DVD's have separate tuners....but VCR's are the cheapest and I know it works with them.

I have a Philips and they call it "HDMI PIP" because it's designed to work with the HDMI. Maybe if I used the HDMI I wouldn't need any outside devices (not sure). As it is, I am using component and a VCR and that limits what can be shown in each box (always have to have a digital/HD channel on one).

I wonder if Panasonic's so-called interactive TVs coming out "next" year will have dual tuners?
