I have been using Fuli DVD+R for the past year since I got my recorder, last week I bought a 50 pack from Best buy for 12.99.
I have 5 football games on TIVO that I would like to get on DVD. I usually do 2 hour mode, with a half per DVD for quality.
Lately, the DVD's have been recording until like after 1 hour then they would stop recording, why? When I stop them and go back to the menu the menu screen is all green and lines going through it, does this all mean a dirty laser? Should I switch DVD's quality to Sony DVD+R? When a disc isnt in the player the menu screen is fine, but after a DVD it become all green and liney.
How do I find out if my DVD is bad before I try to copy on it?

Fuji's are considered pretty lousy, the Taiwan Sonys aren't too good either, you should return those Fujis and get Verbatims at BB.

I had the cable box on top of the DVD recorder moved it, Cleaned the Laser, Switced Media and its still doing it/
Where the Recorder is at, there is alot of cold air coming. Could this be a problem?

sounds like maybe it's time for a new recorder, unfortunately dvd recorders don't really last that long.

When you switched media, what brand did you switch to? Another poor brand will likely show little improvement. Your past experience with Fuli (Fuji?) is no guarantee of continued success. Maybe they changed to a different source for their disks? I recommend trying a first tier disk before you point fingers at the recorder.

I went from HP to Fuji to Verbatim..
The thing is the DVD will copy for an hour, after that it will freeze at some point, someone told me just do one hour mode.

Which DVD recorder is it? Some of them are more picky on specific media brands/types than others....

Verbatim is a top tier brand, so that would, in my mind at least, make me believe that it wasn't the media. In most of these cases, it's the media, but you did right in your testing, and it seems to have made the media a less likely choice.
What make and model of DVD recorder are you using? That information might help us help you.

Magnavox MRV700VR..
I cleaned it about 8 times and got the cold air away from it and it seems to be working better.
