After owning my InFocus 4805 for over a year and just projecting onto a wall I finally had a enough and with the help of th wife this weekend built a screen using 1x3 poplar boards from Home Depot and Black Out cloth.

I'm NOT handy at all so wasn't to thrilled of the idea of using a miter saw to cut boards and such but with the help of a neighbor was able to get it done.

It's amazing how much better the PQ is now. Feels like I have a 106" plasma in the room.

Here are a few snapshots. Which don't do it justice.

Oh man you're in trouble now. Didn't anyone tell you that BOC is a gateway DIY screen material. :o

Statitics show that 80% of the people who have tried BOC will end up trying harder and more mind blowing DIY screen solution.

Just remeber you are only a paint store away from a neutral gray. :D

Or a Home Depot away from a Wilsonart Designer White screen.... :D

A few years ago my mantra was: "I'm only one cigarette away from a pack a day!"

Ode to DIY Mode:

Blackout is fine but given some time ...
Blackin is what's gonna make you pine
You're only a lumber store away from a Fashion Gray!
Good gosh good golly don't forget the poly!
If'n that aint right, try Designer White!
Want to smear some crud, roll a batch of Rs-MaxxMudd!
Like to spray to inspire, fling S-I-L-V-E-R or Fire!
Budget's too small, go Polywall!
Need it screwable, stick up a Do-able!
Startin to feel uneasy there's always FnEasy!
Remeber tonight, set the projector right!
Then screen shots will be nice n bright!

Now that's clever. Just remember to 'dust' your S-I-L-V-E-R.
