I missed a great deal on eBay for a Klipsch rsw15 sub at around $1K.
I've upgraded to Klipsch RF-7 fronts and my old RF-5 to surrounds.

My current sub is the RSW-10....but I'm thinking of upgrading to match the new layout with more power and bass extension.

I can keep looking for the discontinued RSW-15 or look at the new Klipsch RT-12d recommended in the Klipsch forum; however, it is new and pricey. I've seen good deals around on the Velodyne spl-1200r. It looks pretty good on paper but I'm out in Eastern NC and can't audition one. SVS is a nice option...but I'm not sure I want to deal with the size. It would have to be a LOT better in order to rearrange my music and HT area to accomodate the size.

Music reproduction is priorty but it will be used in HT also.

So, RT-12d? Velodyne spl-1200r? Comments? Other comparable options?
Thanks.

Roger, if you want a great deal I'm selling a nearly brand new Klipsch RT-10d sub here: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homesubw&1174093084

It's retail is $1599.99 and I'm willing to let it go for $999 + plus shipping. Comes in the original box with everything, including the factory warranty from Klipsch and is in immaculate condition. Let me know if you have any questions.

Late again,well hope it helps.

Klipsch RT-10d and RT-12d subwoofers are great HT performers and have solid output down to 25Hz,below they roll sharply. They will generate great 20-80Hz output and are very clean sounding subs.

The RSW15 starts to roll also around 25hz down, but has a slam none of the newer RT subs can match.IMO the best Klipsch sub to match larger Klipsch speakers.

At $999 the sub Denon2807 offers is a very good deal.Only to pass if you have a very large room where several very large subs would be a must.

The Fb on the RT12 is around 16Hz, they don't roll off until at least 20. They will compete with a lot of expensive subs at 20Hz but it usually takes measurement equipment to reveal such performance because our hearing is not so acute down there. The 12d stomps the RSW15 below 30Hz and below 20Hz I wouldn’t even call the RSW-15 usable. In all fairness, that goes for most subs, but especially bass reflex systems with higher tuning. The slam of the RSW-15 is no where near 30Hz, its more like 40 or 50Hz (or even higher) and that is purely the added displacement of the larger driver. The 15 is better for mid bass applications while if you want any subsonic sound, you best stick with the 12d.
