I have an HL-R6168 and about every 5 times I turn on the set, without doing anything else, it shuts off on its own. I then turn it back on and it does it again, and then finally when I turn it on again, it stays on without any problem. What's strange is that it doesn't happen every time I turn on the set. Also, I've done some testing to ensure that it's not receiving a signal from a remote control. Does anyone have any thoughts?

That will reseat it. The door to the lamp location has a power switch to insure that you don't work on the lamp when the set is on. Sometimes that switch isn't making good contact.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
