Looks interesting with the chapter navigation. I hope they address some of the PQ issues as it would make a welcome addition to anyone using a mini or the like as a HTPC.

-Jerry C.It would be nice if they cleaned up the problem I have been having with 5.1. Sporadically, the DD doesn't work for a DVD. If I switch over to VLC, I have no problems with 5.1. It should just work all of the time. But there are a few problems with VLC that keep me from using it full time. And I'm sure the rippers will be chiming in for more file support. :p

Actually, what annoys me most about Apple's DVD player is that it enforces UOP (user operation prohibition). This means you have to sit through all the crap on the DVD before the actual film starts. In VLC, you can, in the open DVD operation, choose where the DVD should start playing.
If I'm sitting down to enjoy a film, there is very little more annoying than having to sit through warnings about copywright, commericals or whatever junk the studio decides to put in my path to the film. If Apple doesn't remove this (and I doubt they will), I'll stick with VLC or whatever else comes along.

i should have said be able to burn to dvd. Again off topic but, yes, you can burn the ATSC stream directly to DVD with 5.1 AC3 audio. It's very easy to generate the DVD menus and hit 'Burn' in Toast 7.... it's EyeTV aware.

Again off topic but...Maybe he should have added: "and then play it with the Leopard DVDPlayer when it is released." :D

If the eyetv in question is of a hd/atsc variety.

"Thus far, no documented support for HD-DVD or BluRay discs is apparent in the new player"
Thus far...hope that will change !
