Hello everyone.
Great site by the way.

Either today or tomorrow I plan on buying a tv from best buy since they are running a 0% interest for 36 month promotion this week. I need it for a decent sized bedroom. Space is not a major factor so I dont need a thin plasma. I've decided to go w/ a rear projection lcd i think they are called. Would like something in the 46-50+/- range for around $1500. I'm not concerned w/ having cutting edge technology and the best "oh wow" picture. I just want something reliable that is going to last a while. Can you guys give me some suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Your best options are RP DLP (46" or 50" 720p Samsung) or RP LCD (Sony).

I have the Samsung HLS-4666W DLP, you can probably get it for around $1200 at best buy. Great DLP for the price.

Check out the JVC 1080p 52FA97, I feel it's the best bang for the buck. I have been very pleased with mine so far.

Similarly, I think I have narrowed down my choices for a RP DLP to the Samsung HLS5087W, or the Toshiba 50HMX96. I'm leaning towards the Toshiba because
(1) its $300 cheaper (I will be shopping at Crutchfield as I like their service and delivery)
(2) I see no need for 1080p as I will never get Direct TV
and (3) I've heard the Toshiba models have the best SD picture quality.

Any thought? Am I making a good choice or looking in the wrong direction?

Thanks!

Any of the major brands of DLP are fine (Samsung, Tosh, or Mits).
