When's the Green Mile coming? Wasn't it announced a year before HD-DVD even came out? What's keeping them?

View Full Version : Green Mile?? dpak2005 01-19-07, 03:23 PM When's the Green Mile coming? Wasn't it announced a year before HD-DVD even came out? What's keeping them? puzzle 01-19-07, 03:24 PM In before somebody tells you to change the thread title. SirDrexl 01-19-07, 03:25 PM Yeah, use a question mark when asking about a title. No, nobody knows when it's coming. dpak2005 01-19-07, 03:28 PM It really makes no sense, they released the 2 disc DVD special edition in November, so they must have an HD master all ready to go. Seems ridiculous they didn't release the HD-DVD at the same time. los seres 01-19-07, 05:00 PM Warner is now trying to be format neutral. Unfortunately some HD DVD releases that were on the slate have been pushed back to coincide with blu-ray releases (what a shame!). I think WB movies will tricle out at a very slow pace. TotalHD according to them will be the norm in the future! Jonathan Hickey 01-19-07, 05:06 PM I want this and Shawshank ASAP! Amiable-Akuma 01-19-07, 05:50 PM To OP: A lot of the "coming soon" Warner stuff has been been promoting has now - since evidence given at CES especially - shown itself to be indefinitely delayed...either for tech. reasons (to add IME/whatever), for marketing reasons (waiting til next Harry Potter theatrical release for ex), because they want to change the disc into a Total HD title, or just because they want to release simultaneously with the BD version and they are still working on the BD versions advanced authoring capabilities. This includes US Harry Potter 4, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, and the first Matrix film. You should consider all these titles to be AWOL and to not exist basically until Warner decides to say so. And knowing what we know, - I'd say if any of the above films are released before June - then that would be a big surprise. Forget about these titles until Warner says something else about them. This also might be true for Unversal but with a smaller number of titles - for ex. seems like they probably delayed the Bourne Identity release to be able to record a new IME/video commentary for it and/or so it would coincide with the Ultimatum theatrical run. |
