I accidentally hit the Touch Focus button on my Toshiba 50H81 HDTV yesterday and after I did the picture looked terrible. Since then the Touch Focus feature always fails and the colors are all shifted. When you put a grid on the screen the horizontal lines are very curvy.

This happens all the way up the screen. I can get a photo if that would help. Any ideas? Is this a hardware failure of some sort or can this be fixed with a calibration?

My 50H81 did the same thing. I was told it was the power packs and would cost around $350-$400 to get fixed. I have also been told that the convergence ICs are the problem and could be fixed if you are handy with a soldering gun (which I'm not). So I bought a new Samsung hls5687w 1080p. Great picture!

www.hometheaterspot.com has some tips and tweaks for fixing the Toshiba. This is where I found out alot of information.

Also, FYI you're in the wrong forum.

If you can access the convergence menu, just do that manually.

As Chris puts it

I have never seen TOUCH FOCUS on any of those TOSHIBA Sets ever work and have always seen ERROR message when its used.

I dont think they ever made it to really work properly.
