alright so I am just about finished with my home theater system. i just have one connection question. should i use my optical audio cable from the ps3 to the receiver and then use audio component cables from my dvr to the receiver, or should i just use the optical audio cable form the tv to the receiver.

that would depend on if the optical output on the TV supports full surround(5.1) pass through. i know currently the sets that i have seen in the brick and mortar stores only have 2.1 pass through, but it would be worth a try on your setup just to be sure.

i have the sony 46 xbr2. i believe that that has 5.1 although i am not sure
