Hi All,

For cosmetic reasons, I am looking for speaker wire with a black colored outer jacket. I looked on the Blue Jeans website without sucess. If anyone knows where I can get some decent quality cable let me know (this cable does not need to be "behind wall rated", I am surface mounting it).

Also: When is "shielded" speaker wire necessary?

TIA!

Black Zip Cord is the perfect solution.

Sometimes sold as outdoor low volatage lighting wire.

When the speakers have an impedance of 100K or more.

Parts express has some nice dayton wires wrapped in a black fabric and preterminated with banana plugs. I bought them mostly cause I thought they looked cool and they work just as well as any other cables.

Buy "normal" wire & use black tech flex. Might be costly depending on length needed.

Many cables can be painted (check with manufacturer). I used wire raceway and painted the raceway...

Low voltage landscape lighting wire works great as speaker wire. It typically has black jacket and is inexpensive ~$20 for 100ft of 12ga last time I got some.

You could also get techflex and do it yourself to make them really cool looking.
