Whoa. I jsut sent games back and was waiting for new ones. I'd have 5 in my queue for a few days and was wondering what was going on.

Here's to hoping it was just a simple oversight and they let the domain expire.

Thats funny. They must of had a mirror redirect expire. I had it in my favorites and it would redirect all the time without me knowing.

Thanks!

They are a bunch of junk now. Prior to their advirtising like 6 months ago when I joined they were great fast shipping and taking the games back, now any new games forget it I had tom clancey vegas in my Que for a month and emailed them and all. Now I am done with them and I see the website is down. They probably cant pay their bills not us!!!

When was the last time anyone actually had a game shipped to them from gameznflix? It's been well over a month since they recieved my last game and still nothing. Have about 10 games in my queue all short wait. My complaints of course recieve nothing but their standard canned responses.

I got one shipped about 2 weeks ago. Of course it was Tomb Raider:Legend which they probably have a lot of copies...

I finally got one about a week and a half ago after waiting three weeks from the time I returned one. I then get an email over the weekend stating they can't bill my card for the month. They had no problem doing it last month. I thought about cancelling for a bit but updated my card info (which was all correct). I haven't sent anything back yet but I am about to. Nice to see nothing seems to have changed... I don't know of any other services but I do know I don't want to pay those Gamefly prices.

I did the same thing. I cancelled. They suck. I was waiting tooooooo long for games to ship. I guess Gamefly might be worth the money because you actually get games shipped to you.

I've been using them since the beginning of the year. Not a single problem. Gotten every game I put on my list (Battlestations, Lost Planet, Winning 11). Turn around is usually 2 days. Maybe its the location I'm at? I'm in South Florida and the mailing center is in Orlando. Who knows!

I'm planning on canceling very soon. I hadn't gotten anything in a long time. They finally shipped me Zelda for Wii and it had a giant crack through the disc. It's sad because I really liked the service until recently. I think they grew too fast.

Yea I used to be a happy customer with them but I've had three rental spots open and ten "short wait" 360 games in my queue for about three weeks now and still nothing.

I'm going back to buying games and selling them on eBay when I'm bored with them. Or better yet, only buying games that are worth my time to play and are actually worth keeping.

Most people seem to start experiencing problems after about three months. I know that after about that time, I stopped having games shipped to me and everything went to 'short wait'. Switched to Gamefly. I'd rather pay more and actually get something.

I returned a game to them over a month ago along with 2 other games on the same day. 2 games showed returned within 2 days. The 3rd game I am still trying to get them to remove it from my queue!!! I have emailed them and submitted a ticket since there is no other direct way to note that the game has been lost in the mail.

I also went through a period where I had only 3 games at home and had 10 games in my queue with nothing shipping to me for over a week. I have the 6 games out a time plan. This service really took a turn for the worse in the past couple of months.

I'm in the same situation. I used them for about 3 months and was pleased with the service. Paid for a year then and things went ok, but now I'm not getting jack. I've had Rainbow 6 in my queue since December and it hasn't shipped. They did ship me Resistance after about a week in the queue after I got my ps3 around New Years.

I broke down and re-upped with Gamefly last week. Got Rainbow 6 three days later and have been having a blast. They shipped Crackdown yesterday.

I still have Resistance, Gears, and Excite Truck out from them.

Anyone know if you cancel your membership after paying for a year if you get any kind of prorated refund? I'm guessing that's a big fat no.

Yeah, I have 30+ items in my queue. Most of which are short wait, and with the 6 out plan up until yesterday I had 3 empty slots for about 3 weeks. Everything I am being sent are the movies and not the games which have been at the top of my queue since november.

I discovered Gamesnflix way back in December of 2005. I heard about the 6 out at a time plan for the lump sum of $250. I took a chance and signed up. For the first 8 months I had the service, it was a dream come true. The best value that I've ever experienced. All I was renting were Xbox 360 games. When you do the math, you are basically renting games for a full month for only $3.50 per game. You can't touch that with a 30 foot pole. What I would do, is keep 3 games as long term rentals. Almost like I was buying the games. I would keep them for like 4 or 5 months even. Reason being, in 4 or 5 months, I could pretty much get all the entertainment I wanted out of the games during that time, and instead of having invested $65 ($59.99 plus tax) on them, I was investing $14 to $18 on them. Sure, if you buy a new game for $65, you can Ebay or Craigslist it later, but you will end up losing much more than $14 to $18 on that $65.

So I would usually keep 3 or 4 of the 6 games as long term rentals. And then the other 2 or 3 games would constantly be swapped out, just to check out the latest titles that come down the pipe. It worked absolutely wonderfully for me, for quite some time. I remember thinking that "leasing" games is the smarter way to do it. Sure, you have to change your view on ownership, but ultimately, it was the cheapest way to always have the latest games, and to keep a couple of favorites as long as I wanted.

It seemed around mid August and into early September of last year, things started to change a bit. Instead of getting new releases right away, I was having to wait weeks and weeks to get a game. As we got into October and November it seemed to get even worse. I also got a PS3 and Wii, and back in November and December, gamesnflix had a horrible selection of games for those two systems. I'm not sure how it's improved since then, but I remember for the Playstation 3, they only had like 3 of the 18 launch games or whatever. It was pretty horrible with the Wii too. My 1 year contract expried like January 3rd of this year, and I was thinking about re-uping with them, but then changed my mind at the last minute. It looks like I made the right decision.

It's too bad, because considering the fact that I would be able to rent Wii games, PS3 games, Xbox 360 games, HD-DVD movies and Blu Ray movies, you would think that the 6 out at a time thing would be absolutely perfect for me, but it just got to a point where I was never getting the games that I really wanted, and I started to get really scared to send back games I liked, cause I thought I would be waiting forever to receive another game back. Also their Blu Ray and HD-DVD selections were horrible, at least back in December. I remember getting Ice Age from them for Blu Ray, but that was about it. If they had a huge selection of Blu Ray and HD-DVD movies, and had more copies of 360 games and PS3 and Wii games, it would be a dream come true, but it just appears that they will always be trailing the rate of new customers that will try them out.

I'm sure they don't do it voluntarily, but you can always file a report with the BBB and if that doesn't work report fraud to your credit card company. In my opinion they're not giving you the service that you pre-paid for and therefore have no right to keep your money except for pro-rated portion. My guess is this company is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and is using the yearly memberships to get quick influx of cash, but still don't have the funds or management talent to properly run their business. I mean look at their website-it couldn't be that difficult or that expensive to improve, yet they haven't done so. The margins in the online game rental business are very thin-this is why Netflix won't get into the online game rental business (nor will blockbuster). Games are just much more expensive and don't have the staying power and catalogue value of movies. I feel like I've tried just about every company and Gamefly is the only one that is even remotely legit-yet if you live on the East Coast like I do, they are worthless. Still don't understand why they don't open more shipping facilities.

I used GameznFlix for almost a year but when they stopped shipping me games I dropped them for GameFly and I'm glad I did. GameFly ships me games right away every time I return one (so far anyway).

I have a comparison of the two sites on my blog (here (http://www.andymerrill.com/rantreview/2007/02/gameflycom-vs-gameznflixcom.html)) if you're interested.

I am having the same issue with Gameznflix. Started about 2 months ago. I have 3 slots open for shipment, 9 games in my queue, yet nothing is being shipped to me. I have had at least 2 of these slots open for about 6 weeks straight. Some of the games in my queue have been there for 2 months showing "Short Wait", which is supposed to be 14 day turnaround.

This is a bunch of crap, and I just e-mailed them again. Is anyone able to contact them by phone? If I get no response, I may have to get an outside party involved, i.e. the BBB.

This service was top notch last year, and now fell apart. I used to get new releases shipping right away. Sometimes the shipdate was before the game hit the store. Now, I ca n forget about it. Nothing ships. :/

I emailed them at least once a week. I eventually got a response of a short wait can take up to 14 days to ship. Once it hit about 28 days I started emailing them again guess what the response was? Yes, your right. A short wait can take up to 14 days. I had it shut them down. They are gonna be gone anytime soon or they will have to make a hefty investment in their inventory. They website had to cost like $15 so I dont know where all their money went but thats not my concern. Its to bad they dont care about their customers. Luckily for me I still get 2 free game rentals from Blockbuster store that really is everyones best bet right now unless you live close to gamefly but I hear they are also going downhill too.

no, they give you 5 days and an additional week then they charge you the full price of the game. If you return it after that they charge you like 2 bucks and refund your card.

I've been somewhat disappointed with Gameznflix. I just signed up a couple months ago and at first they were shipping most of the games at the top of my queue right away and I would get them in one day. Now I've had Rainbow Six Vegas at the top of my list for over a month and have sent back at least half a dozen games and still haven't gotten it. Heck, I haven't gotten anything in my top 5. They have been sending me crap like Sonic and Dynasty Warriors which I put in there just for filler towards the bottom.

I hate Gamefly's slow turnaround time but at least you actually get the games you want from them. If they would just open an distribution center closer to the east coast I would be thrilled.

FourDoor
02-27-07, 06:41 PM
Thats exactly what happened to me too. I put in a whole bunch of 360 games in my queue as filler at the end since I thought it would be nice to play them if I ever got around to them. But when it came down to finally shipping, Gameznflix constantly skipped over my top10 games in the queue and would pick out something from like #15 like Sonic or some other crap game.

I have had Lost Planet and NFS: Carbon as my top 2 since they have been released and both have shown a short wait since day 1. To date, they have not shipped yet.

I cleaned up my queue and now only have a total of 6 games in my queue but none of those games have shipped this week. I have 4 open slots this week. Last time I did this, it took them about a week to send something out which of course was from the end of my queue.

Well I canceled my Gameznflix account and just for fun logged into my old Gamefly account... I still had about 14 Xbox 360 games in my Queue and every single one of them was "Short Wait." On the flip side, every single Wii game I checked was "Available Now," including SSX Blur which just came out.

I just don't think the Netflix model works for video games. People want to keep games out for too long. Lately I've gone back to buying games and have found that even though I'm spending more money I tend to play the games a lot more than when I just rented. When renting games I usually sent them back as soon as something annoyed me or something new came out. Ebay is always an option to get rid of the games that get boring pretty fast (like Crackdown once the Halo 3 beta is over).

i'm from NY and i've been getting my games in like 2 days. I also got a sweet deal. I joined w/ my friend who has a ps3 and we split the costs for 3 games out at a time. Its only 12 bucks a month so it only ends up costing me 6/month.

9 bucks for 2 out at a time, 12 bucks for 3 out at a time if you signup w/ promotional code "emmy" i signed up about a month ago and it worked so i dont know if its still going on. it allows you to switch how many games you want out as well and it still gives you the special pricing

I completely agree. I have tried 3-4 different services and have come to the conclusion that for the price of membership I can go to Gamestop or a pawn shop and buy one used game a month and be able to add to my library... instead of wait 6-10 days average just to see what they might send you. If you happen to get a game you actually like, then you will most likely keep it for a couple weeks. I was really only averaging only 2 per month.

I also switched from being a long time Netflix user to a Blockbuster Total Access deal. For $18 a month I get 3 movies out at a time, but the great deal IMO is when you finish the movies, you just return them to the closest store front and they put it in the system as returned and your next movies are shipped.. AND when you return them to the store in the sealed envelope you get a free in-store rental for each one you turn in to watch while your next in queue are on the way.

They also give me 1 or 2 coupons a month for a free in-store movie or GAME rental. So I can get like 6 flicks a week average and a couple games a month all for $18 :)

Gameznflix is working well for me but my situation is different. I got 360 over the holidays and never owned the first xbox. So I loaded up the queue with 360 games that are old, and some classic xbox games that I never had the chance to play. (Working through forza right now) I knew going in that I wouldn't get new games but that wasn't a priority for me yet. Once I've worked through the backlog I'll probably be in the same boat as you guys. If I really want a new game like gears I just buy that, but purchases will be rare. I like that I can try games that have gotten average or poor reviews too. Somes times one mans junk is another mans treasure.

This company is now pissing the hell out of me. I submitted an "issue" noting that I have not seen any games ship out in over 3 weeks even though their queue system shows everything as a short wait still.

So today I get an email notification saying my issue was updated. Log on to their website and none of my issues are in my history. Previous was a game i had shipped back over a month ago and was still not taken off of my queue. So now according to them, I never had any issues with their company. Nothing is showing up!

The heading to my issue was "No games shipped in 3 weeks!". I am thinking that they may have deleted my issues so that it wouldn't be searchable in their little knowledgebase. Surprisingly they shipped out one game today according to their queue, which is Star Trek (was getting it for my nephew). So that leaves still 3 open slots on my queue. Here is what I wrote to them:

All of the games in my queue have shown as a short wait which is incorrect. I have the 6 games out a time plan and I currently only have 2 at home. The short wait should be depicted as very very long wait. I do not want to send the back that I have now, as if I do, I will be left with ZERO games as none of the games in my queue have shipped in over 3 weeks!!!

I prepaid 1 year for this service and am near one month where I did not get the service I had paid for. Please ship the games in my queue or at least update your website to give a realistic timeframe as to when they will ship. 8 games are in my queue and none of them have shipped within the past 3 weeks. If you cannot ship the games or change the queue status then pro-rate my account 1 additional extra month as I have essentially had one month of zero service from this company! Either that or refund my money for the rest of the months I had pre-paid for if you are not going to ship me any games!

I really want to cancel their service now but pre-paid for the year which is now screwing me over. Anyone here try to to get any part of their $ back before cancelling?

(and on a side note, they don't even have GRAW 2 listed as a 360 game on their site)

Lol..... Gameznflix was a really good serivce mid to late last year but have went downhill in a hurry. With the 3 out plan I was lucky to get 1 game a month. Even when new games come out 9 times out of 10 it's listed as "on order" There selection leaves something to be desired as well. I was very close to pulling the trigger on the 6 out deal when the service was rocking but I wouldn't even consider it now.

I went back to Gamefly and while more expensive still very reliable.

I have to agree. Gamefly is horrible for us on the eastern side. I just signed up for Gamerang late last week and already received two games Monday. One of which was Crackdown which I had at the top of my Gameznflix queue since it's release. So, needless to say, Gameznflix is getting cancelled.

well, someone's still alive over there.

They just shipped me Rainbow 6: Las Vegas for the 360. I've only had it in my queue since last November.

I have, of course, re-upped with Gamefly already and played through and returned Vegas. I kept it in the gameznflix hoping they'd send it so I could keep it for a while to play co-op online and now they've actually shipped it.

I had games shipped to me this week as well. It took them 3+ weeks but I have 6out again. I'm going to return the 2 games I've had for over a month and half now and we'll see if they ship anything after that.

You should scratch all gameznflix.com's games. They are idiots with a great idea its too bad.

I finally had lost planet shipped to me as well which has been in my queue since well before its release. I have been getting a steady stream of HD-DVD and blu-ray movies though which is the exact opoisite of how it was before.

RIP? Their site is still up...and there's a thread on FW about coupons for pretty good monthly rates. I was thinking about re-activating my account.

1 Out at a Time / $6.75 each month
2 Out at a Time / $9.75 each month
3 Out at a Time / $12.75 each month

5 days later and I've received Rainbow Six and am surprised to see that they are currently shipping me Crackdown.

Maybe they're turning things around?

I used GameznFlix for almost a year but when they stopped shipping me games I dropped them for GameFly and I'm glad I did. GameFly ships me games right away every time I return one (so far anyway).

I have a comparison of the two sites on my blog (here (http://www.andymerrill.com/rantreview/2007/02/gameflycom-vs-gameznflixcom.html)) if you're interested.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I used GnF for games, and it seems in November/December 2006, they just completely dropped the ball. I had games in my queue for over 3 months, and none of them ever shipped.

Switched to GameFly about a month or so ago, and they send out games lightning fast. Glad I made the switch.

I also cancelled my GnF account. First month was perfect. Got Lost Planet immediately when it was a new release, as well as any other game in queue as soon as I have an empty slot. Like clockwork, when the second month rolled around, nada. I have 5 games on my queue, all big time games that got released that month and didn't get a single one. GnF told me I should have a min. of 15 games in my queue. Ha...no thanks.

Now I'm trying Gamefly. Distro center in Cali and I'm in South Florida. Received my first game in 2 days and 2nd game the next day! The gamefly games even beat out the only game GnF sent in my 2nd month and GnF sent it first and their distro center is less than 4hours away. Hopefully Gamefly keeps things like this. Although I wish it were cheaper. GnF was 12.95/month for 3out using a code and Gamefly is 21.95/mont for 2out. =(

Yeah, the only thing I miss about GnF is the prices. They had the absolute best deal for renting on the web, couldn't find better prices.

There was a time when I thought Gameznflix was going to be the next big thing, so I had some ppl do some research into there business. This was almost a year ago. The results given to me at that time showed me that it was owned and ran by two gentlman and the company was barely staying alive. The sad part was had I been inclined to do so, I could have taken there business out from under them for a grand total of $22g and some change. This makes me courious to know what there worth nowadays and if they have improved there business skills, but after reading the posts here Im sure everythings still the same.
