View Full Version : Insteon behavior during power failure

If power goes out for a short time (5 seconds or so) and comes back on, do Insteon switches return to their pre-failure settings or do they come back in the "off" state?

I will have an auto-start generator and it would be nice if the electrical load was automatically cut before the generator kicked in. Then I could turn the lights/devices I wanted to have during the power failure back on once the generator was running.

If no one knows could someone do an experiment for me with a plug-in module? Plug a lamp into one, turn it on, pull it out of the wall plug, stick it back in and see if the lamp comes back on.

Thanks!

I just tried this with a lamplinc and the lamp came back on when I plugged it back in.

Thanks very much checking this out and letting me know. It is very useful information.

Yes,

All the Insteon modules/switches will come back on to "last state" after a power outage of any duration.

Cheers,
Paul

AVS forums are great. One question, two good responses. Thanks so much, guys.
