I am building my theater and would like to have two rows of traditional home theater seats (3 or 4 seats in each row), but would also like to be able to move them out of the way when we want to play ping pong, etc.

Does anyone know of any seats that come on casters or otherwise have movable platforms?

Thanks!!

Get furniture slides from your local hardware store.
Cheap and they work great.

By traditional seats I asume you mean recliners?

The only ones that come to mind that I know are iJoys, not sure how good of a theater seat they make (massage is a bonus but dunno if they're comfortable still when you don't want a massage).

Two words: Love Sac (http://lovesac.com)

The best comfy HT seating in my opinion, any shape you'd like. Really great if you have a significant other to watch too!

A related question has come up a few times before about having seating risers that could be moved around as needed. As I recall the general consensus was to build the risers, carpet and install seating keeping the risers as light as possible. Place several of those furniture slides under the perimeter.

Having several beefy friends was another requirement/suggestion.

Can't recall any final results posted.

Here's the thread BigMouthinDC was mentioning:

How does one move a riser built like a tank? (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=769032)
