The infocus PJs are DLP PJs. Most of us in this forum could not stand to watch one of those even if you paid us.

You want digital PJs--three doors down.

As mentioned you are in the wrong forum, but digitals have been moving pretty fast, IMO you'd be better off getting a new projector. Getting an old projector will leave you a generation or so behind in terms of image quality and you may be able to get better value buying new. What a few years ago a projector may have cost several thousand dollars may be easily beat by a new one costing less now, which may be equivalent to the older, used, and inferior one in terms of used price.

I think you are right on here unless you can find a fairly new one used that is being dumped in favor of "the next great thing". I've seen Pearl's popping up for pretty cheap.

woot.com just had a deal for an Infocus IN72 for $399 AR and $5 shipping. Granted its only a 480p projector and not the best but its only $400, thats cheap.

i'm willing to buy a machine that isn't the most up to date, because im working with a small budget here, it's not going to be used for movies, just to project a computer screen application, in my case. cubase.

Yeah, but what is your budget? A new 720p DLP (the mitsu 1000) is about $1000.

You could get a better picture with a CRT for that money, but if you don't know what they are, you probably don't want one. :)

If you could find a 7" CRT for that (you might), it would definitely be your best picture. I think at best you are looking at a used 480p/576p digital in that price range.

refurbished DLP projector? Brian quit smoking that stuff :D There is no such thing as a refurbished DLP prjector, when they break you throw them away, like a printer. There migth be some B-stock units out there, I know we returned 3 Benq's at work before we got a "good one" and I'm sure the factory sells those again.

Hmmm,

I decided to give the google thing a go just to see ..

This one came up...

With $440 Euro's you should get $10 back.

(And the same site has infocus pj's "new" $100 cheaper then that after rebate.)

Fairly cheap these days. But in some of these cases the bulb costs nearly as much as the pj!
