Checked this disc out last night. Much better than the remastered DVD, but not a knockout. The film has a dark, muted look most times, intentionally I'm guessing, so that could be it.
I was impressed by the absence of any artifacting in the final dance sequence. That alone had to be a real challenge for compressionists & they pulled it off well. This is an MPEG4-AVC release & the bitrate goes upto 49mbps at times in that sequence. The PCM audio is first-rate. Overall, I'd say this BD's PQ is faithful to the film. I'd say Tier 1. Not meant to look like 'Crank' anyway :).
I'm using the PS3 via HDMI to my Mits HD3000U DLP projector & a 106" high gain screen.
