-I want to place the cable receiver, xbox, and dvd player on a shelf probably 6-10" below the tv. With out new bed being so big (you can see parts of it) we don't want to have a stand sitting on the floor below the tv.
-The Coax has to come from the other side of the doorway, you can see the cord running across the floor right now.
-There is one power outlet just to the left of the dresser you see here.

So my questions include:
-How would you run the wires for this?
-I was planning to take the baseboards off and try to run the coax behind it and around the door. Will I be able to place it behind the baseboards on the door?
-Do I need special coax, component, power cables, etc if I am planning to run it behind the drywall? I dont really want to have a fire hazard.
-How should I power these items? I have a surge protections power bar but I don't know where I could place it to be out of sight.
-The power cable for the tv is not very long, so how/where do I go about finding a longer replacement?

First do you have a basement. If you do run the cable into the basement you can then wall fish it up to the wall to the table.

Next behind the LCD, place a hole and run wires down to the place where you wall fished the cable TV. You can get some nice wall plates with connectors at Home Depot or Lowes...Am I making any sense, I hope so. Be creative...

Yep that makes sense. Only thing is this is on the second floor. I do have an attic, although I've never been up there and I'm not sure what type of access I'd have to the walls.

Get up in the attic and you should be able to drill holes into your wall areas to fish the wires you need. Only issue might be running the power, you may want to hire a pro just to run you a new outlet behind the LCD.

So where the cable outlet is, you think I should drill a hole beside the outlet then run the cable into the hole, and fish it up the wall and hopefully into the attic, then across the attic and down into the wall where I need it? Is that safe? lol. Do I need special coax or anything for that?

Then I would need an electrictian to put at least 4 outlets (2 plates) in behind the tv.

You shouldn't have to drill a hole to fish the cable, just open up the wall plate and put an extender on it, then run it up into the attic. You should be able to find the parts to do this at radio shack or similar. Be sure to use good cable though. Depending on the source of the cable, it might be easier to run the cable from another location as well. Just be thankful you have an attic to work with!

So you think running through the attic would be easier than just removing the baseboards and running it behind there? (maybe cut a 1/2" off the bottom of the drywall for it to fit)

I would do whatever you think will be easier and look the best. For me the attic would be easier than messing with the molding.

Will an electriction be able to install new power outlet(s) without making large holes in my wall?

There is no other outlet between the same set of studs of where I'd want the outlets behind the tv.
