No online co-op sucks too. I'm still looking forward to it though and will be getting it.

I apologize, I just read the update. When and why did they change it?

When and why is because MS doesn't allow 3rd party companies to make wireless accessories.

They are allowed to make wireless controllers.

They just are not allowed into MS' proprietary wireless tech. Meaning if they made a USB dongle or so, as is for PS2, then it will work.

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I can't beleive people play/and are excited about this game..

Playing the real guitar is so much more fun and interesting. use the $70 to take lessons, chicks dig it IMO

I'd love to be able to play guitar. However, I'm lazy and will not put in the years of practice required to play at an average level;) GHII FTW!

i've been playing guitar for over a decade, and i still can't get enough guitar hero 2. this game is just a really good time. it's got great song selections from a wide number of genres, and they're all fun to play. of course, the fact that they're adding a pearl jam song to the 360 version just makes it better.

as for playing a real guitar instead... hmm, let's see... perhaps someone doesn't always happen to have a willing drummer, bassist, singer, and rhythm guitarist on hand, maybe they don't want to get evicted for playing at 120 decibels in their apartment, maybe they don't have any interest in really learning the guitar?

and oh yeah, there's still the minor fact that playing guitar hero is absolutely nothing like really playing guitar. that's like saying that anyone who's beaten wii sports tennis is ready to take on federer. the game's lead designer is a guitar player himself, and these games are actually targeted at musicians. there's all kinds of licensed guitars and inside jokes in the game for people who play music.

you should really play the game before talking about it.

Playing a real guitar may impress a few girls but when they see Guitar Hero, they all want to play it.

How many lessons will $70 buy you?

Reminds me of the guitar scene in Animal House...

I've been playing the guitar for close to 15 years. Guitar Hero is a blast.

One has nothing to do with the other.

I've got 2 PS2 Guitar Hero controllers ... and though I'd love to get it for the 360 I just can't justify the cost for what amounts to a handful of extra songs. If they'd release an adapter and sell the game separately, I'm sure I'd pick it up. That's $50 for the game plus $20 (or thereabouts) for the adapter they're missing out on. I'm sure there are a lot of other people in my situation.

And no co-op play over Live? I thought that was one of the biggest attractions to the 360 version. That's very disappointing to hear.

I do believe they said they tried to get co-op on Live working, but cited "performance issues" in pulling it from the game.

They did say if they got it working that they would add it however, so there is still hope.

I really want to pick this up... but $90 is definately steep. Thankfully my bday is in March, time to suck up ;)

Also to stewed, besides the posts of those in this thread, quite a few famous band members have notable addictions to guitar hero, so I don't think your complaint holds much water.

Does anyone know if there is an adaptor that will allow you to plug the PS2 guitar hero controllers on the 360 so you don't have to buy 2 to play co-op on the 360?

I'm pretty sure not gooker, although those previous owners can always hope.

we got guitar hero II & it's supposed to have the songs War Pigs by Sabbath & YYZ by Rush, but ours won't display them all the way through. the demo at wal*mart had War Pigs playing when I 1st saw the game. on Road Tour, we only get 4 songs per level, & I thought there was supposed to be 5 per level.

what gives? thanks.

each set has an encore you have to unlock. i believe war pigs is an encore, but i don't have the song list in front of me. anyone else know for sure?

War Pigs and YYZ are both encores and need to be unlocked by playing through the setlists in Career mode. I believe War Pigs is after the third set, YYZ is the second-to-last encore.
