OK, so I bought a projector and while I can cobble together a setup to hold me for a few days, I need some much longer video cabling. Can anyone point me to VGA or component solutions to move those pretty pictures 25 feet or more? Thanks!

Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see any long cables with an XBOX 36 plug at one end and a VGA plug or component plugs at the other end. If it's not to much trouble, can you give me something more specific?

Never mind -- I see that I've been looking for the wrong thing. What I need is an extender cable, not a single xbox vga cable.

Get a double female DB15 VGA adaptor and a 25' VGA cable. Xbox360 ---> adaptor ----> extension cable ---> projector.

I am not sure if the longer cable run will cause any degradation, though -- it might.

I'm using a 50' monoprice RG59 component cable and a female to female 3 RCA adapter to connect it to the XBox cable. Even at 1080p I've seen no degradation. Can't speak to VGA though as I haven't used them.

Component will be better for long runs than VGA so I'd use that. :D

if you can get some RG6 Quad cable atleast 3.0 GHz or 4.5 GHz Belden 1694A is the best so far get some female RCA connectors and some male RCA connectors and you are all set

Really!?? Why?

I'm wiring a new room with shielded CAT5E, to use with DSUB15 VGA wall connectors, ala MrWiggles / Man E style.

(Shielded CAT5E can also be used for component.)

the component is better that is what I was told by a lot of people but on paper VGA is better

but on paper USB 2.0 is 480mbps and Firewire IEEE1394 is 400mbps

we all know that firewire is faster almost all the time and for capture cards USB one looks like crap compaired to a firewire one

if you are going to use component make sure you use Quasd Shielded it is just better and not much more money

like I said before I have used the 1694A Belden 4.5 GHz RG6 Quad Cable and I have 3 runs of 125 ft one Red one Blue and one Green it goes from my reciever to my projector that I rool outside to watch movies in the backyard

the cables are running across my kitchen floow and held up inthe air with chairs and a table

this works just fine and I have bought a 100 ft HDMI from MonoPrice but I really nead 25 more feet and I cant notice any quality difference from the HDMI to the Component

it is a 1280x720p projector on one of those blow up screens
