My NBC-HD channel has had low (by approx. 10db) volume for awhile now. When it started all of the volume was shifted to the left. I spoke w/an engineer who replicated that issue and corrected it, but the sound has been significantly lower than the other HD channels ever since. Additionally, some non-HD channels are louder than others, and a couple of channels (2 & 19) are extremely loud and come completely from the left speaker. Comcast has repeatedly ignored my complaints. Anybody else having similar problems? (my DVR is the SA8300HD)

I have had a number of issues:
- Devils' home games, the volume seems to go all over the place
- CW every couple of minutes the sound will drop very quickly, pop and then com back
(I've only noticed this on recorded content)
- NBC occasionally (late night, mostly) sounds like it's in a tunnel
- CBS (I think) gets louder when shows come back from commercials. That's a new one.
I haven't experienced the left channel only thing. I also have an older tube TV (gasp!) that started getting an enormous amount of visual noise on NBC once they dropped the New York affiliate from the analog channels.'
I haven't really documented these problems. Maybe I should start.

This seems like a jersey thing. I was watching South Park last night on the CW and the sound would drop out every 5 minutes or so.
I am in Central New Jersey.

P.S. I have also noticed the sound in the hockey games going all over the place.

I complained about the CW-HD also; frequent pixelation (every few minutes) and audio drops. This is really the only channel that audio drops are accompanied by video problems. I went through intolerable audio drops a couple of years back (HBO-HD, NBC-HD, etc.) and an engineer determined it was the SA box. He worked w/SA and a couple of patches later the problem was all but solved. It's begun to be noticeable again (NBC-HD for one).

It's not just a Jersey thing. Some friends of mine that have Comcast up here have experienced dips and jumps in audio during programming.

Most stations use the "default" -27db or something close, which puts them somewhere in between. Dialnorm used correctly was supposed to help the program volume differences, but the way it's being used right now is making things worse.

CBS is louder than every channel even here in Florida.
