Well it is not like putting the movie out on pre-order will make it come out any quicker.

But the sooner they put the pre-order up, the more likely I will pre-order it before it is released on a given day. If I forget, then I will probably end up looking around for it locally, which is always very unpleasant.

It's a great movie and definitely the best Bond in a long time. It has more of the spy feel that the early Connery movies had. No more over the the top action and stunts; it feels gritty and real.

Sorry, but did you even follow the film and where it was going with it? This film is about Bond in the process of becoming 007. What they're trying to say is that he's rough - not smooth as he'll become later. He makes several mistakes. He's arrogant but doesn't have the finesse to back it up.

What I loved about this movie is that the villain wasn't out for world domination with super duper satellite beams from outer space.

After seeing the disaster that was Die Another Day, this was a refreshing change.

My only real complaint about this movie was the quality of the poker game.

I applaud the move. Holdem was the right choice for it. However, the game itself was so ridiculous, I had to laugh.

They often take at least a few days to add the 10% discount to preorder titles. The good news is this isn't coming out for almost 6 weeks, so there's no rush.

I can always cancel and re-order when they apply 10% off coupon. It just feels good :-) to have it on order.

I personally like the fantasy Bond better than the Bourne-clone version. I want the swimming cars and the orbiting space stations, and Bond bagging another hottie every 5 minutes.

I'm assuming they will either bump up the fantasy quotient in this franchise or it will die off.

I did too, to some extent, but I was just happy to get away fro the more ridiculous aspects of 007, invisible Aston Martins and what not. I do hope they bring back some of the gadgets, they already had the hot women in CR, so for me it only needs a few gadgets and it will be golden.

One of the best Bonds ever. I'm really looking foward to it. :)

I think it'll stick around sub 100 (likely sub 200 for most of feb and then back down low again in march) for quite a long time, but I don't think this title is going to be able to hit really low because what is happening right now.

I thought this was the case as well.

I hope they don't ever do only uncompressed PCM, since the PS3 will only output the signal as 2.0 if you don't have an HDMI receiver. Those of us using an optical connection can't get the uncompressed 5.1 surround, so we need the regular old fashioned DD 5.1.

I have had to drive all over to different BB's, CC's Wally Worlds ect to find new releases in stock lately...or sometimes not in stock on release day.
The way I see it...I will save a lot more than 79.00 in gas over a years time using prime....not to mention usually cheaper prices.

I don't think it's possible to fix. The PCM track is too big for the optical spec.

Daily sales ranking. It's been really strong though since the pre-release was announced, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the best selling Hi-def movie for most of the year.

Usually on Amazon they get high and peak and then come back down pretty quickly.

Cumulative. If they were daily sales, everything would rest to 100,000 at the end of the day. Unless you're asking what period they take sales into account for, chances are it's a few weeks, at least

All these new Bond transfers look stunning playing on my 360 HD-DVD player upconverted through vga. I just finished watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service and I had to run out to the garage for a shovel to clean up my jaw from the floor. Pretty amazing how these recent transfers can get so close to HD images when upconverted. Looking forward to seeing Casino Royale on Blu-Ray.

I got one as well. I emailed them last week as I ordered 3 other BD movies coming out with Casino Royale and I was only getting the discount on 3 of them. I got an answer back and then the next time I looked, Casino Royale was like $12.97. Then a few days later it was back up to $27 something but the 10% off was correct for the entire order. Then I got the email this weekend with the notice about some mistake and they apologized and gave me a $15 off coupon which I quickly applied to the order!

Casino Royale is a different animal. Expect $ony to have it available at the big boxes. I couldn't believe that the Departed displays didn't have the HD versions.

Nothing definitive yet that I know of, but since this is likely the most important release for Sony day-and-date (especially with 500K PS3-freebie European discs), I'd be surprised if there weren't some major differentials. Maybe you could pose the question to TalkStr8t in the insider thread, and see what he says?

The Prestige is an AWESOME movie...i had never heard of it before, but bought it in BestBuy and have watched it multiple times since then...

I watched The Prestige and Babel on BD tonight and they were both pretty good. I can't wait to get Casino Royale in about 2 weeks on BD. I absolutely loved it at the theater last year. It's one of the reasons I decided to go format neutral.

Absolutely. I don't even typically like Bond movies, but this one stands out as one of my favorite movies of all time, probably in my top 10. Beats the crap out of this year's "Best Picture" IMHO.

Oh yeah. Brosnan's Bond started off with the excellent Goldeneye and then immediately dropped off with next two bottoming out with The World is Not Enough (the worse Bond movie IMO). Die Another Day was a decent attempt at a comeback, but the franchise was pretty much irreparably tarnished in my eyes. This "reboot" with Casino Royale & Craig has made me a Bond believer again. Tough and to the point.
