Currently our HDTV is being fed standard definition via an old DishNetwork Satellite box. We recently installed an OTA in our attic to receive free high def channels. Since doing so, it almost seems like the standard definition channels from our satellite box look amazingly clearer and crisper. Are my eyes deceiving me or can an OTA help improve the satellite signal at the same time?

Nope - one has nothing to do with the other. Unless Dish happened to do something with its chs at the same time.
