View Full Version : Saw "old" PV500 vs PX600 today, the PV500 was better!!!

Well, in terms of grayscaling in the dark regions it was. Both were on the same source, and i noticed better detailing in the blacks on the PV500. Also the latest Pioneers further down in the shop couldn't show the same black level details as the good old PV500! (they were more or less in the same ballpark as the PX60/600)

What's going on here? The latest Panasonics should produce twice the amount of graylevels as the older PV500.

Btw, before somebody will ask, i've tried to adjust the settings on all screens to match the PV500, but that didn't help.

Hey, you won't get an argument from me on that since I own a 50Px500u. :)
I had it side by side with a 60u and it was just better in every way I could see.
I will stop short of claiming better black levels but close enough for me.
