I have a 42" Sammy DLP with Optical out. Can I just plug all my video/audio inputs into it and run the Optical out to my receiver? It would prevent me from buying a bunch of cables :o

Yes, probably you can. You'll then have to switch inputs on the TV rather than on the receiver. There may be a chance that some of your audio won't run through the optical but would rather need the right/left analog lines. Slim, but maybe.

Cool... only thing I might have problems with is with the Cable. It is a college apt. and the cable is provided for us. Not digital... so it might not have the right signal or something. I really don't know. I will buy a optical cable and a set of rcas just to be safe...

- You can, but you most likely won't get Dolby Digital from any of the inputs.
