I thought someone could perhaps benefit from this. My joist are not in the ideal position for 8500 mount with unistrut. The pj's mounting position is perpendicular to the ceiling joists (basement) so I placed 2X6 inbetween with brackets. :cool:

This for me , was a better option than using the 3/4 mdf board. That seems weak considering one is using 4" lag bolts. Its pretty strong, :D , I was doing chin pullups on just one of them. I don't weigh that much, but as luck would have it , I am the same weight as my 8500 :D :cool: I hope this image thing works!!! :confused:

Wished I weighed only as much as my Barco 808, even with its ceiling mount. And I wished I had the guts to get into my ceiling but my house is rather old and I'm not too thrilled with cutting into lathe and plaster.

I don't weigh that much, but as luck would have it , I am the same weight as my 8500I remember when I used to weigh as much as a Marquee.

Another reason I had to upgrade to the G90 (242 lbs 8 oz :eek: )... when you turn 40 you'll understand.

I'm 50 and weigh the same as my 4600HD (without the mount) ;)

I am 31 and weigh twice as much as my Sony VPH-1000QM, about the same as my VPH-1270QM but am not sure how much my weight compares to my Retroblock D808S (sticker on it says Graphics, must have been upgraded from the Data version) :p

I believe Barco Retros weigh in the neighborhood of 350 lbs. So I hope you're a bit lighter than this!

No, I call that insurance to make sure the projector doesn't drop. If the mount can hold me swinging from it, it ain't coming down.

There's no way my Retroblock weighs that much, 160Kgs? :confused:
There is no way I could move it let alone get it from the car to inside the house even with help.
