I have the dreaded Infocus 4805 light tunnel problem on an out of warranty projector. I am a fair technician so I think I could handle the replacement so can anyone tell me where I can purchase the light tunnel? I've searched the forum and see all the problems people have had with this issue but haven't ran across where to buy one of these. That aside, the 4805 has been a great projector. Any help would be appreciated.

No need for replacement(normally). Glue the light tunnel (generally one piece of the light tunnel falls and "close" the Tunnel). These pieces are really thin; you have to be very careful not to break them.

Here's the thread that has detailed disassembly instructions and photos for the 4805:

This thread also has detailed photos and descriptions for the X1 but shows the light tube and how to fix it:

If you are careful and take your time, between these two threads, you should be able to fix your PJ.
Disclaimer: It's your PJ. You decide whether you are willing to ruin it trying to save several hundred dollars. The links I provided are to help you decide whether you think you can do it and want to risk it.
Good Luck. :)

So thanks to all for all of the information in this thread - had the "yellowish band on the right side of the screen" problem show up a few weeks ago - did some research and became all too familiar with the phrase "4805 light tunnel adhesive problem". I'm not super talented when it comes to this kind of stuff, but thanks to all the posts and pictures, I was able to fix my projector with a $4.50 2-part epoxy purchase and a couple of hours of my time. Got it all put back together, and it looks great.

I just picked up a 4800 and a 4805 off craigs list for $140. the 4805 worked but had the light tunnel problem. I think the 4800 needs a new bulb.
About 3 hours worth of work and it seems to work just as good as my other one that oonly has about 200 hours on it.
I used masking tape to hold the mirrors in place while i glued them with super glue. I first did the bottom and left side, let them dry a little then did the right side then the top. I just kinda eyeballed them being square with the surface i had the tunnel sitting on. It seems to match up with the plate that holds the lite tunnel in place and the image looks fine.
The guy reset the bulb hours so im not sure how many it has is the only concern now.
