I just purchased the IN72 and im waiting for it to arrive..i mostly bought the PJ for movies and xbox 360 games...Now that i purchased it...my friends want me to put the super bowl on it...my question is...
i live in california, so the game will start around 3:30pm, which means it will still be light out still. How well does hd tv show up on the screen with some light in the room?. I dont wanna black out the room to see the picture because the last thing i need is a super dark room and a few drunk guys jumping around.
how dark will the room need to be to watch the game on it?..any expierence??
It's been my experience that High Definition sports broadcasts can be viewed with a high degree of satisfaction in a room with some ambient light. The images are typically much brighter than your average HD movie or DVD movie. Enjoy the game.
That reminds me, I need to get the invitations out for this year's party.

Black out the room and provide some light. Sunlight is the worst at washing out the pic. Atleast get the room as dim as possible and all sunlight off the screen.

usually the projectors have a bright mode or "sports" mode where they really pump out some lumens...You do need to get the direct light at least off the screen though. Blind are not a possibility? there's always tacky blankets over the window routine...Depends on how bad you want to impress your guest's I guess.

But then you could just sit there a watch the game on a 100" screen instead of having to make small talk with the family and friends.
And in the end, isnt' that what we all want ?
Peace and quiet and the NFL on 100" screen ?
Shade as much light as possible and you can get a very good image in a dimly lit room that is still easily bright enough to read in after your eyes are adjusted. Hard direct light hitting the screen causes the most washout.

yea...i have blinds up..and the sun doesnt hit the screen at all throughtout the day...so i should be fine!....
Why not try simply turning it on during the day and see if it is watchable? :)
