Hi All, I am thinking about installing a 22" wide screen PC monitor and using the DVI input to attach to a HD cable box, but the question I have is about sound? Can I attach powered PC speakers directly to my cable box by using an rca to mini plug adaptor, or will I need to use an external amp? This setup would be for the bedroom in my house that my wife and I sleep in.

Any help would be appreciated.

A small amplifier may be needed to drive the speakers unless one is included with the speaker setup. Typically, the cable box output is 'line level' and will not intended to supply speakers directly.

Most computer speaker systems have a small amplifier built into the system.
