Is there any PC or Palm software that will show the codes sent by an IR remote control?

With one or two codes I can usually figure out what I need to generate Pronto codes for all command combinations for that device. I've done it with my Hitachi bigscreen TV and now I want to do my other equipement.

Unfortunately, I dont have any pronto codes for my other stuff to figure out the frequency or binary coding.

I should add that I have an ATI USB IR receiver and a Microsoft MCE IR receiver for my PC's as well as a Palm Zire 31.

This is a good question.
I would like to know the answer too.

I have a MyBlaster Serial connected to the PC.

Please see the thread HERE (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=9607336#post9607336) for an idea of what I'm trying to do.

Does anyone have pronto codes for the following devices? I only need a couple codes from each.

JVC TH-C4 mini system
JVC CA-FSG5 5DVD+tuner
ATI USB remote
LXI 564.42453851 TV
Microsoft MCE remote

Yes. The quickest, cheapest and easiest way to get a setup that will give you the signal info is to get a JP1-compatible learning remote and a JP1 cable. Then, you can use the learning remote to capture the signals from the OEM remote and the JP1 software will give you all the info you need about the signals.

There is also a device that you can make yourself to capture signals which you would use with a program called "CaptureIR". I haven't done this myself so I can't speak to it, but if you do a search for "CaptureIR" over in the JP1 forums you'll find more info about it.

Robman,

Will these methods also give me the raw data stream for each key on the remote control?

I would like to use MyBlaster to emit the same raw data stream to simulate a key press on the remote control.
