Has anybody heard anything about a possible release of The Fountain on Blu-Ray/HD-DVD. I really want to see this movie again and cannot settle for a regular DVD. :D

View Full Version : The Fountain unknown 01-27-07, 02:25 PM Has anybody heard anything about a possible release of The Fountain on Blu-Ray/HD-DVD. I really want to see this movie again and cannot settle for a regular DVD. :D tdot2k6 01-27-07, 02:55 PM i just mentioned this over on the hd dvd thread. this has to be one of my all time fav movies. i dont understand why it was so unappreciated? i think part of the beauty was that fact that it was so hard to understand. we, as the audience, didnt really need to understand it. such as life. but yeah this movie would look amazing in hd. if this went to bluray i'd be hard pressed not to go out and buy a ps3. turansformer 01-27-07, 02:59 PM Arnofsky directed this, right? WriteSimple 01-27-07, 03:13 PM Aronofsky did, yes. However, I get the feeling that this was truncated from the reviews I heard. So hopefully on BD, we'll get the director's cut. fuad NovaKane 01-27-07, 03:31 PM Definitely one of the movies from last year that I'm looking forward to seeing in HD. I found the film both fascinating and obfuscating. Have a SD screener and watched the film back to back in order to more completely understand it. Yes, it helped somewhat, but I also had to delve into the press kit in order to glean more information. I respect Aronofsky's vision, but his execution could have been a bit better. But I am glad that a few people are talking about it here. It's very visual and should make a great High Def experience. SheepFactory 01-27-07, 04:08 PM The fountain is one of the best movies I have ever seen and I REALLY hope it gets released on blu ray\hd dvd. Jedi2016 01-27-07, 04:19 PM This is a Warner Bros movie, I think? I would imagine it'd be pretty safe to assume it will come to both HD formats. Which is good, because I haven't seen the film yet, and I want to see it "right". In HD on my big-screen, if not the big screen. tdot2k6 01-27-07, 05:29 PM SheepFactory i totally agree with you. this has to be, like i said, one of my all time fav movies. vanilla sky used to be my fave f'd up love story movie, but this movie has taken over in terms of love story as well as.....i dunno what im trying to say. i just truly love this movie. chap 01-28-07, 10:18 AM I'm really surprised it didn't get any major oscar nods. It was just such a good film. I'm also surprised it doesn't already have a release date since it was in and out of theaters pretty quick. Hopefully it will get a day and date release. |
