using the 890 as an RF remote for components inside a cabinet. I use the included extender and plug it in to the infared port on the back of the Tivo unit. It does not pass commands correctly. I also plug in an Onkyo reciever via its IR port on the back of the unit and it works flawlessly.

Any one else having a similar issue??? If so can you give any help.

Thanks

I just setup an 890 and placed the IR emitters over the component’s remote sensors---all the components get the correct signals.

Not sure I understand your statement, “I use the included extender and plug it in to the infared port on the back of the Tivo unit.” Sounds like you’re not using the IR emitters. If that’s true, try placing an emitter over the remote sensor on the Tivo box (after you program the appropriate port on the RF Extender).

some components like my Onkyo 804 receiver and the hr10-250 have a IR port to plug directly into the back of the unit so you don't have to stick a IR emitter to the front of the component. Just makes for a cleaner look. I was hoping not to have to use the IR emitter but the hr10-250 does not properly accept the command from the port. The onkyo receiver is plugged in via its IR port in the rear and works great.

Thanks
