I thought I'd start a conversation w/ myself about this movie as I doubt anyone else has it :)
Not a bad movie... there's been so many "football" movies lately... unfortunately no soccer. PQ was pretty good.

Great movie! for football.
They are Currently Finnished Filming Goal! 2 Living the Dream.
and they are Filming Goal3. right now..
Can't wait fer em.
The games did seem real and there were certainly quite a few famous players shown... but many action shots I feel were too close... but other than that I could certainly say the nurse was worth the price of admision alone :)

The movie was pretty good. Not many footy movies out there, especially in the American market. I saw it a while ago but I remember there were several cameos from big stars. There is a bar scene with Zizou, Beckham, and Raul.
Yea I wish there were more soccer movies.
I watched GOAL on DVD and liked the movie. I've been thinking of picking it up on BD but I dont want to pay Disney's expensive prices for it.
I haven't seen Goal! but everything I've seen and heard in no way makes me think this will be a good film. There has only ever been one good football film in the history of cinema. That was (Escape to) Victory, combining everything English blokes love best, WWII films and football. I believe that's a WB title.

I enjoyed it quite a bit actually! Probably because I love the sport :)

The PQ is very good on this one. Story wise, it is a good enough young mexican kid from LA goes to england to try out for a first division football (soccer) team. The progress is predictable with downs and ups on the way to a contrived happy ending.
I think "Bend it like Beckham" is a better movie, but then, this one is in HD. A good family movie to watch with your kids, but no aliens, zombies, explosions, spaceships or CGi.

Yes...it is a fantastic looking title. I would definitely put this in tier one. Little to no grain, striking depth and bold colors with a great PCM track to go along with it. It's also a pretty enjoyable film to boot.
