I have a birthday coming up in the next few weeks and have somehow managed to break my wife down as to what she was planning to buy for my birthday...a new TV!!!
I can safely say her budget is in the 2000 or just slightly over range. I would like her to buy from a local place as well just for the returnability if all goes wrong (CC or BB maybe). I have been using an HTPC with my 36" Sony HDTV for quite some time now (4:3) and am looking forward to going to a 16:9 ratio and being able to gain more screen real estate as well.
What I need is a TV that displays PC input very well. The rest of the stuff does not matter to me nearly as much. Does anyone have suggestions?

Well I can tell you that I hooked up my laptop to a Samsung 61" HL-S6188W over VGA and it looked amazing. I cant imagine how it would look if i used my desktop (DVI vid card) and hooked up to the HDMI :D

Thats the only one I tested, but got very good results. I would say get a TV that displays in 1080p and accepts a 1080p signal over VGA or HDMI.
