Hello everyone. I'm looking to get a big tv sometime this week. I just sold my 60" sony because I want to step up to a 70" or bigger 1080P set. I have narrowed it down to the Sony 70xbr2 or the Mitsubishi 73831. I can get the Mits for about 800 dollars cheaper. I watched the Mits in a dark room and can see a slight rainbow effect on it only on dark scenes although the wife can't see it. The Sony looks really good but from what I've read about the green blob, it has kind of made me have second thoughts because I thought they fixed that problem with the XBR2. I really don't know what to do here. The wife likes the mits because it's cheaper and it's bigger. I didn't know choosing a tv would be this hard. Anyone have any suggestions on these? Thanks.

70XBR2 owner here since November. Set has operated perfectly. I haven't heard of the green blob issue occurring on any 70XBR2's.

You cab get the 73732 for 3600 on Ebay from an authorized dealer just do a search for "73732" it is the same tv and PQ as the 73831. The Mits does have the best picture but some people like the Sony name. They are both great TV's but only one can be the best. I just bought the 65732 for 2400 and it has the best picture of any tv there is imo, but if you must have the biggest available go with the Mits 73" :)
